How Do Precious Metals Influence Item Price?
Answer:
An item will always be worth, at the very least, the melt value of any precious metals it contains - even if the item is functionally useless. So if the spot price of a precious metal contained in the item rises or falls in value, the item price will immediately rise or fall accordingly.
