What Does "925" Mean?
"92.5% silver by mass."
When stamped on silver, "925" means "sterling silver", signifying the composition is 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals. It may also be stamped as ".925" or simply "sterling", which all still mean the same thing. The stamp/mark is usually located on the bottom or inside of the object - not immediately visible in plain view.
