What Does "FV" Mean?

"Face value."

In the context of stamps, "FV" means "face value". The face value is how much value a stamp carries when used as postage to mail a letter. For example, the face value of the adjacent Canadian stamp is 3 cents, denoted by the big "3" in the bottom left corner.
