^ Additional Information

Volumetric weight is a value calculated from the volume of the package, based on a pre-specified density by Canada Post. Since they bill by weight, this calculation helps to account for the physical space a package takes up on the delivery truck, by the converting the volume into an equivalent weight. This equivalent weight ensures excessively large but light packages are still billed correctly. Canada Post uses a volumetric weight divisor of 6000 for Regular Parcel shipments, and 5000 for all other shipments.
