To calculate cubic feet using measurements in inches, you just need to multiply the length, width and height together, then divide by 1728 (the number of cubic inches in a cubic foot). Some shipping carriers such as USPS will apply a surcharge if the volume of your package is over 2 cubic feet. To avoid this, calculate the volume of your box before you tape it, and if it is larger than 2 cubic feet, try to reduce the dimensions so that you can avoid the surcharge.
